It all started in 1952 when Cleveland “Roscoe” Galloway and his wife, Carolyn Galloway, purchased the Galloway homestead on the French Broad River in the small city of Etowah, NC outside of Hendersonville.
His family farm began by growing some of the best Christmas trees around the area. His son, Charlie Galloway, worked alongside his dad learning the ways of the land and growing Christmas trees and growing to love the farm life just as his dad did.
Charlie then worked at Horseshoe Farms in Horseshoe, NC with cattle and poultry during his young adult years before leaving for another job, and then farming as a hobby to provide a good source of meat for his family.
In 2020, the Galloway family decided to expand the farm with the help of the Mallet’s and the Mallet’s family property that owned fantastic pasture for grazing cattle. The plan was to put into place and the farm has and continues to be a great success for the community. The farm is run by the Galloway family to include Charlie Galloway, Charlie’s wife (April), his son Scott Galloway and Scott’s wife (Miranda) and children (Tye and Oakleigh).
We conduct Pasture-based management practices. We never take our cattle off pastures, and they always have access to grass. We use a pasture rotation that allows our pasture to stay healthy. Our pastures provide fresh water daily from natural springs that run through the property. We let our cattle live a stress-free life by not including any type of herding or chasing. The cattle will follow our farmers to pasture locations during movement. Our breeds consist of Black and Red Angus, Black Baldies, Brangus, Hereford and Charolais. Our meat is USDA certified and handled with care. We would like to thank everyone for all your support to local farmers in advance. (828) 545-0136
